Publishing content to TrendSpider Store

TrendSpider Store is a publicly available website where traders can find strategies, scanners or indicators which were built by other traders on TrendSpider. Most of the content is available for free to use, but some of the premium indicators are paid. Every customer on TrendSpider can publish free or paid items to TrendSpider Store. Once you do that, everyone on TrendSpider will be able to find your item and use it according to the rules you specify while publishing.

Publishing content

Everyone on TrendSpider can publish to TrendSpider Store. One can publish scanners, strategies or custom indicators. Any time you publish to the Store, the first thing you should decide on is whether your item will be free or paid (see below). Once you do that, you should specify what your subscribers will be able to do with the item once they subscribe. The rules can be different fir different item types:

  1. Strategies: Everyone gets to use free strategies from the Store in any way they want. Your subscribers can see the conditions, run the strategy on various markets, clone it, create trading bots from it and so on. There is no way for hiding the conditions of a strategy. However, if you want to preserve your secret sauce, then you can build a custom indicator which encapsulates this sauce, and then use it in a strategy. Your subscribers won't get to see the source code of your indicator once they subscribe to the strategy, while the strategy per se will still work.
  2. Scanners: The same rules apply.
  3. Custom Indicators: Everyone gets to use free strategies from the Store in any way they want, but you get to regulate whether your subscribers will get to see the source code or not.

Once you publish, your item won't become visible on the Store right away. First, the item goes through a process of review and approval by TrendSpider staff. The list of things we pay attention to is available below, but in general, our goal is to make sure that the thing you publish is likely to be useful for your fellow traders. If we find out that we can't approve the listing, then our Customer Success team will reach out to you and let you know what changes are necessary in order for your work to beckome approved.

Once your listing is approved, it becomes visible to everyone on the Store. The two main ways traders find content on the Store are:

  1. In-app. I.e., when searching for an indicator in their Manage Indicators dialog, traders can also see items listed on the Store. The same is true for scanners and strategies.
  2. Via search engines or using the Search feature on the Store itself.

Publishing paid content

Publishing paid content is regulated by terms and conditions. The general idea of publishing is similar to free publications, but there are a few caveats:

  1. We handle all the billing for you. Read more in terms and conditions.
  2. Every subscriber is allowed to have one 5-days free trial for every paid item on the Store. Subscriptions can only be monthly, no yearly subscriptions are available.
  3. You don't have any direct control over the list of people who can access your item. If it's a paid listing, then you can't add or remove a person manually from the access list. If you want to have granular control like that, then consider using other types of publications (like "share to certain people only") or contact our Customer Success team.
  4. You can not un-publish a paid listing yourself. In order to do that, please contact our Customer Success team.
  5. You can't sell indicators while also having their source code open (available for the subscribers to see).

Anyone who subscribes for your item will have the access instantly. If thye want to keep it after the trial end, then we charge them your listed price. If the charge succeeds, then they get to keep the access. As long as a subscriber's subscription for your indicator is active (that is, they keep on paying their monthly bill for you indicator), they will have the access. Once they cancel the subscription, they will lose access to your item once their current billing cycle ends.

Things we pay attention to during review

  1. The title and code should not infringe on any trademarks or copyrights.
  2. The title should be descriptive and relevant to the underlying content and text only.
  3. No icons, symbols and emoji's are allowed in titles.
  4. The description should thoroughly describe the content being shared.
  5. When sharing an indicator, the system takes a screenshot of your screen at the time it is being shared.  As such, please be sure to showcase the indicator you are sharing on the screen when sharing, and nothing else.
  6. Your code will be subject to a review, in order to ensure there is nothing malicious and that indicator works as described.
  7. It is a good idea when sharing your content to include keywords that could help people find your content when searching in the store.  For example, if your indicator is a momentum-based indicator, then make sure to use that word in the description so that when people search for ‘momentum’, your content shows up.

Participaing in TrendSpider promotions

TrendSpider might run occasional promotions on the Store. A promotion gives TrendSpider customers discounts to the participating items. When a promotion is active, all the aprticipating listings are gathered into a dedicated collection which pops up at the very top of the Store. TrendSpider gets to decide when to run promotions, what is the value of a discount and what is the duration of a promotion.
