Indicators

TrendSpider provides access to a wide range of indicators. Traders can fully customize the settings for each indicator, including values, data sources, chart position, colors, patterns, line thickness, and more.

You can add an indicator in a few easy steps:

1. Click on the Indicators button in the top menu bar to apply indicators to the chart.
2. Click on the Three Dots to the right of the Indicators button to add, configure, or remove any indicators

Indicator Types

In addition to the 200+ technical indicators offered, you will also have access to a variety of other indicator types.  You can access them by clicking on the dropdown that says "All indicator types".  Options include:

• All Indicator Types – A full list of available indicators.
• AI Strategies – AI strategy-based indicators you’ve built in the AI Strategy Lab.
• FRED – Federal Reserve Economic Data (CPI, PPI, 10-year yield, etc.).
• Fundamentals – 200+ fundamental metrics such as revenue, gross profit margin, price-to-book, etc.
• Market Breadth – Metrics such as % of stocks above the 50 SMA, net 52-week highs/lows, McClellan Oscillator, and more.
• Relative Performance – Shows how strong a ticker is relative to a benchmark.
• Technical Indicators – Over 200 tools such as RSI, Bollinger Bands, MACD, and more.
• Your Custom Indicators – Indicators you have personally built.
• Your Subscriptions – Indicators you’ve subscribed to.

Edit Indicator Settings

You can quickly edit any existing indicator on the price chart using the Quick Editor.  The chart legend lives underneath the name of the ticker symbol on your chart.  You can expand or collapse the list by hovering your mouse over this section of the chart.

1. Click on the Expand indicators list button on the top-left corner of the chart.

  2. Click on the three dots next to the indicator that you’d like to edit.

3. Update the indicator in the popup window and click Apply to save.

Custom Indicators

If the indicator you need isn't available, you have the option to create a custom one that can be used across the platform including for the Market Scanner, Alerts, Checklists and in the Strategy Tester. You can either write the code yourself using JavaScript or let AI assist you in generating the code automatically. Simply select "Generate a new indicator code using AI" to have the system create the code for you. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
